Around a dozen situations can be driven with the VR Bike: night situations, vehicles driving out backwards, vehicles turning right or left, roundabout situations, distraction by smartphones, passers-by surprisingly crossing the street.

How long is the assembly and dismantling time?

The construction time is approx. 30 minutes, the dismantling time approx. 15 minutes. People with a lot of experience can assemble and dismantle the VR Bike faster.

Best indoors or protected from sunlight or rain. Problems with the infrared sensors can occur in direct sunlight.

Yes, the VR Bike can also be operated without virtual reality glasses - but not all situations are designed for this.

In order to be able to depict virtual reality scenarios, powerful computers are required, especially with regard to the graphics card and the processor. We are therefore making recommendations for appropriate computers. If other models are used, this must be clarified in advance.

What does the evaluation look like?

The evaluation is structured differently depending on the scene. There are scenes in which reaction, braking and stopping distances and times are calculated, including a calculation for an alcohol- or substance-induced delay. In other scenes, simple feedback is reported as to whether something has been solved correctly or incorrectly.

The journey per scene is around 30 seconds to 1 or 2 minutes. This is to ensure that a person can experience different scenes in a short time.

Is there a possibility, that motion sickness occurs while driving with the VR glasses?

Accepted Answer

The VR Bike was designed to react as accurately as possible to user interactions such as steering and pedaling. In addition, a system with a fan was developed to simulate the airstream. However, there is still a chance that motion sickness will occur in a certain percentage of people.
